National Trade Union Involvement in The European Semester – INVOTUNES

-

The OSE is the lead partner of this Commission-funded project. The partnership is made up of ten institutions. These include universities (the University of Macerata, Uppsala University and University of Turku); trade union-related research institutes (the European Social Observatory, the Hans Boeckler Foundation’s Institute of Economic and Social Research (WSI), and the Institute for Social and Trade Union Research (ISTUR); independent research centres (the Centre for Studies for Social Intervention (CESIS), the Bulgarian Academy of Science and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is an associate partner in the project.

INVOTUNES explores the extent to which national trade unions are involved (if at all) in the European Semester, the mechanisms and impact of such involvement and finally the linkages between the European Semester and national social dialogue. At the core of the project are eight case studies in as many countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Portugal and Sweden. The project will lead to concrete recommendations for national trade unions with a view to ensuring effective and quality involvement in the Semester. OSE researchers involved in this project: Sebastiano Sabato (scientific coordinator), Dalila Ghailani, Ramón Peña-Casas, Slavina Spasova and Bart Vanhercke (project manager).
